It is not necessary to get a visa before travelling to Malawi. On arrival immigration will grant a stay of 30 days. If a longer stay is required it is possible to extend the trip for an additional 60 days with the Immigration Department in Lilongwe or Blantyre. If a stay of more than 90 days is required then a temporary residency permit should be applied for with the Immigration department. (07/10/2009) |
